What is Buried Membrane Waterproofing?
The phrase buried refers to the fact that the waterproofing layer is not visible when the project is finished. This contrasts with exposed waterproofing where the coating is visible, like liquid roofing. A common application is podium decks which are particularly used on top of basement constructions as paved areas or gardens or terraces, or rooftop terraces which can be paved. Correct specification of a buried system is even more important than exposed because once the complete system is installed its almost impossible to remedy any issues whereas an exposed coating can generally be directly repaired. It is imperative that the correct system is used to prevent moisture ingress into the occupied space below, whether that’s for a balcony or a pedestrian area over a car park. İt is also essential that the correct detailing is done for all joints connections drains, upstands etc.
ElePrufe PU Bitumen 1K
A premium quality, liquid cold applied, one-component bitumen polyurethane self levelling elastic waterproofing membrane, typically used for buried membrane applications on floors (also can be used on walls).
Bitumen PU is the most economical option but is most commonly used in spring summer and autumn. See our MMA systems for fast drying and winter application.
ElePrufe PUMA Concrete Protection
A premium quality, Polyurethane modified MMA system comprising of a damp tolerant MMA primer, a PUMA membrane layer and a protective top coat. The system is fast curing with all three layers applied and ready the same day for further systems to be applied. Typically used for buried membrane applications on floors (also can be used on walls).

PT Reactive-Slurry Crystalline is a reactive, powdered, active crystalline, rigid cement based sealing slurry with special deep crystallization properties. based on cement and special additives. PT Reactive-Slurry Crystalline penetrates deep into the substrate and claws by active crystallization into the pores of the substrate to achieve a very good bonding to the surface. PT Reactive-Slurry Crystalline retains the crystalizing reaction over the whole working time. Immediately after application the crystallization starts and is permanent working.
Prooftec PT Waterstop Mortar
PT Water-Stop Mortar is a cement based, very fast setting premixed mortar, which has swellable properties. Due to special additives PT Water-Stop Mortar is absolutely watertight against pressurized water. The mortar does not attack reinforcement steel. Exceeds the requirements for concrete repair of EN 1504-3 class R.
Prooftec PT Crystalline Powder Admixture
PT Crystalline Powder Admixture is a high quality, integral and high concentrated waterproofing admixture for concrete and mortars. By reaction with the cement paste, it forms nano-crystals. In the cement matrix, PT Crystalline Powder Admixture is reducing the capillary and pore size. The formed crystal structure is not soluble. PT Crystalline Powder Admixture forms in combination with concrete an integral waterproofing system for all concrete constructions.
